The Bay Area Urban Areas Security Initiative

Craig Dziedzic

General Manager

As the General Manager of the Bay Area UASI, Mr. Dziedzic is responsible for ensuring direct and indirect representation of twelve Bay Area Counties and three major cities to provide region-wide leadership and administration of all federal homeland security grants, including UASI, Securing the Cities, Regional Catastrophic Preparedness, and Targeting Violence and Terrorism Preparedness,  in direct support of regional goals/objectives aligning to the California Homeland Security Strategy and federal policies. Mr. Dziedzic serves as chair of the Coalition of the CA UASIs, which includes the urban areas of Sacramento, Los Angeles, Santa Ana, Riverside, and San Diego. He is also a permanent member of the CA Homeland Security Advisory Committee.

For more than twenty years, Mr. Dziedzic has been employed in federal, state, and local government positions. He initially began his career as a legal intern for the Hon. Joseph Biden, US Senator (now President Biden). Thereafter, he moved to San Francisco and became a CA licensed attorney.

Mr. Dziedzic earned a B.A. from American University, School of International Service as well as a JD from Golden Gate University School of Law and a LL.M (tax) from Boston University School of Law. He has a certificate in accounting from University of CA, Berkeley School of Business and Management, and has completed Harvard’s National Preparedness Leadership Executive Education Program (Cohort VIII). He has also obtained specialist certification: Terrorism/Homeland Security from Cal OES as well as Infrastructure Protection certification from Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX). Mr. Dziedzic is licensed by the CA State Bar and the US Tax Court.  Like the current US President, Craig is a native of Pennsylvania.
